Does anyone know if or how it is possible to transfer photographs onto fleece material? I am planning to make a fleece blanket for my boyfriend for christmas. I was wanting to put some pictures of us on it. But i was not sure if the transfer paper would stay on fleece material. Does anyone know?? eringobraghless replied: "Theoretically, you can do a transfer on any material that will accept the medium plus the heat necessary to set it, but I don't think you'll get the result you're after. You might have better luck transferring your photos onto fabric, then cutting and sewing patchwork, which you could then sew to the fleece to make a sort of duvet." You probably can't use any type of fusible bond. The fleece will melt under the heat of the iron.
If you want to try it, test a sample first. Start with a fairly low heat and work up to a hotter iron if you need to. But, I don't think you'll get good results." Maybe not the best answer or the one you were looking for, but something."
Chirp replied: "Post on your local Craigslist site under 'wanted' that you're looking for free fleece for charity projects. Also, check the 'free' section on your local Craigslist. You won't find it for free on eBay, but you can often get very good deals there. Also, locate your nearest chapters of the 'American Sewing Guild' and 'Newborns in Need' - they do lots of charity sewing and may be able to steer you to good sources in your area, or even share some material with you.

Johanna S replied: "Needle size doesn't really matter. I mean you don't want anything too big or too small. Just a regular needle. The thread they sell these days is a poly cotton blend. It works fine for almost anything. Remember to sew it inside out and double your stitches at the corners.
